So, floral frogs are way out of date. The first time I saw one, I had no idea what it was. But one road trip, my friend and I picked up a few at an antique store north of Bowling Green, KY. Asking the woman at the counter what in the world they were used for, she told us that women used to put them at the mouth of vases for "that perfect flower arrangement". Call me crazy, I don't think I'd ever bother so far as that; but they're a testiment to a time when women took homemaking much more seriously than they do now. I personally like the idea of using them as paper weights, pen holders, random points of interest on a bookcase- whatever. They're weird but great.
