Stuffy Stuff Stuff

Well.... hi.

It's been a while.

I've been busy with all sorts of things lately. Traveling, singing, shopping, working, cleaning (lots of spring cleaning) and a little of everything... I spent a couple weeks in Key West this February, which was tons of fun. Found some great vintage shops down there! Took way too many pictures, ate way too much pie, and came home totally worn out! Here's one of my favorite finds: yellow lace sunglasses.

I've also been hanging around Columbia, TN more recently. I've been playing at Killion's Café on the square, which has given me a good excuse to do some serious antiquing locally... Which is where I happen to have found some of these things:

My grumpy tea pot ain't for sale! I think I like him too much...

More cool stuff, and ideas, and projects

And this is Killion's, where I've been playing lately. Awesome little coffeeshop (better than Starbucks) with small town charm and Nashville flair. Local station AM8910 Fox Sports is run from the back corner of the café, so there's always somebody coming and going and talking "on the air".

More Armchair Makeovers

My next project needs to be something involving a pair of caned arm chairs. They've been taking up a corner of my room for about a month now, and they're really pretty hideous in their current state. After twenty or more years in the family (first in my grandma's kitchen and then my mom's), they're a little worse for the wear. The main problem is that they have no butt. All the caning is worn out in the seat. So you sit and woosh! Your butt falls through the seat and you've got a hundred little caning nubs stuck to your jeans.

So.... I was thinking of making an upholstered wooden seat for each chair... Feeling ambitious.
